The Cranberry Institute (CI) participated in the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026, hosting a range of health education activations at the USA Country Booth at MAEPS Serdang.

Through these interactive sessions, CI connected with local consumers, agribusiness leaders, and food service professionals, highlighting both the nutritional benefits and the wide commercial potential of U.S. cranberries at Malaysia’s largest and most prestigious agricultural exhibition.

A major highlight was a succession of high-level VIP visits to the USA Country Booth during the exhibition. CI welcomed distinguished guests, including Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim; Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu; U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires David “Chip” Gamble; and U.S. Embassy Spokesperson James Butler.

To connect with attendees of all ages, CI deployed interactive digital tools designed to bring cranberry farming and nutritional science to life.

Virtual reality headsets allowed visitors to step directly into U.S. cranberry bogs during harvest season, offering an immersive, firsthand look at how U.S. cranberries are grown. Alongside the VR farm tours, visitors tested their knowledge through an interactive touchscreen quiz based on the Cranberry Institute’s Berry Best Guidebook, which introduced participants to the fruit’s science-backed health benefits and everyday culinary uses.

Supported by local importers, CI hosted tasting sessions featuring U.S. cranberry products. The sampling initiative introduced cranberry juice as a refreshing daily health drink option and showcased dried cranberries as a versatile, nutrient-dense ingredient for everyday Malaysian recipes.

During the showcase, CI actively engaged with booth visitors, gathering valuable feedback and positive testimonials from regular consumers who shared their personal health experiences with U.S. cranberries.

By executing these activities, CI hopes to drive lasting product awareness and foster ongoing trade and consumer engagement across Malaysia.
